The Little Free Pollinator Plant Stand
The Little Free Pollinator Plant Stand
NEWS FLASH: The Little Free Pollinator Plant Stand has a new home! It is now next to the front entry of the Caviglia-Arivaca Library, located at 17050 W. Arivaca Rd., Arivaca, AZ 85601
What a beautiful "welcome wagon" for gardeners, located on the shady front porch where the plants and seeds will stay dry. Special thanks to Julia for such a creative display! You can stop by anytime that the library is open, to take some free seeds or plants home to grow in your own garden - there are native and non-native flower seeds for pollinators, veggie seeds, and more. If you have extra seeds or plants from your garden, you can donate them too. AND while you're there, check out what's blooming in the library's pollinator pathway garden too!
The goal of the Little Free Pollinator Plant Stand is to enable local gardeners to easily share their extra plants and seeds with one another, and make it easier to grow a pollinator-friendly community together!
This is one of the many free plant stands throughout Arizona that are registered with the non-profit group called GardenExchangeStands.org. Visitors to all the plant stands are encouraged to "take a plant, leave a plant" or "take some seeds, leaves some seeds" if they can.
A few guidelines:
Visit the plant stand only during daylight hours, preferably while the library is open;
Take items only from the plant stand itself, not from any adjacent garden areas;
Take a little, share a lot if you can;
Label your plant and seed donations (supplies are inside the big basket);
Don't donate items inside glass jars or plastic bags, because it's very windy here in Arivaca, and those things could blow around, break, and become a hazard.
Thanks, and hope to see you soon!
